Drives & Amplifiers
The terms drive and amplifier are used interchangeably. Drives power and manage performance of actuators (such as motors, linear actuators, pneumatic cylinders, or hydraulic pumps) and are essential to motion control operation.
Drives receive their commands from the motion controller, and discerns how to most effectively drive the actuators, prevent damage and ensure full speed and torque. Each drive is designed to deliver the correct, continuous current, peak current, and voltage for a particular type of actuator, though some do support multiple types.
