XY-Stage, Miniature Linear Motor, Active Photonics Alignment & Scanning Application by PI

This miniature XY-stage is based on miniature linear ultrasonic motors. These ceramic motors are ideal for compact positioning stages. They provide fast start/stop dynamics with high acceleration rates. The application video shows an U-723 XY positioning stage based on ultrasonic linear piezo motors, with 10nm resolution linear encoders. The scanner is used to find first light and then lock on to a peak simulating an active photonics alignment application.
