Inspecting and Gauging Cutlery
Customer Problem:
Guy Degrenne, Europe's largest cutlery manufacturer, needed to perform a variety of machine vision tasks to ensure their products were produced with a high standard of quality. First, they needed to inspect forks for scratches and other surface defects. Then, they needed to measure the dimensions of the fork tines to ensure that they were all the same length, as tines could become elongated or shortened during production. Based on the speed and quantity of forks coming down the line and the degree of accuracy required to perform these tasks, the manufacturer could not rely on manual inspection.
