Assembling a traditional servo motor system requires you to wire together a motor, encoder, amplifier, and controller. Conversely, integrated motors combine a connected motor and a drive. Some integrated motors even include the controllers and encoders as well.

As a result, integrated motors do not require you to wire together the separate motor system components. This is why automation professionals looking for a plug-and-play option often go with integrated motors, as they can usually be set up out of the box with less engineering effort.
