Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) Cameras
Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) cameras are designed to quickly send raw image data to a computer using the Gigabit Ethernet communication protocol. They are the most common interface for vision cameras in machine vision applications. GigE cameras have several features, including:
- High data speed: Up to 100 MB/s
- Long cable length: Up to 100 meters
- Standard interface: Works with most PC hardware
- Power over Ethernet (PoE): The network cable can supply power to the camera in addition to communicating with it
- Simple integration: Works with all image processing applications
