GeT Cameras Inc Product
GeT Cameras offers industrial GigE cameras that are used in industrial, pharmaceutical and machine vision applications.
GIGE VISION CAMERA SERIES
The Mercury 2 GigE camera series exists of industrial GigE vision cameras, with a GigE interface. GigE is the most common interface used for cameras in traditional machine vision applications. The Mercury 2 series have advanced features like decimation, binning, pixel skipping, reverse and digital shift. This model is interesting for you when your application complies with the following conditions:
- An industrial camera
- Maximum cable length of 100 meters
- Inexpensive and easy installation of cables
- Dimensions are: 29x29x40.3mm
- Optional hardware triggering
If more details are required, the industrial GigE Vision camera manual can be consulted.
MTBF, WARRANTY & PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE
Each year, Daheng Imaging produces more than 100.000 industrial cameras according to the highest quality standards. The mean time between failure (MTBF) is more than 400.000 hours (45 years, 24/7). The industrial cameras are certified by TÜV Rheinland and have a 3 year warranty. After market introduction, every camera model is available for at least 7 years. Most cameras have a much longer product life cycle. For more information about our product life cycle management, check this article.
MONOCHROME OR COLOR INDUSTRIAL CAMERA
A black and white camera, also known as a monochrome camera, offers advantages in a variety of applications. While the market for security focusses on color cameras, the industrial market utilizes the advantages of black and white cameras. Black and white cameras are very light sensitive, provide sharp images and reduces data compared to color. This makes it ideal for image processing. By selecting the right color as your light source and lens filter, a black and white camera can utilize the product its characteristics. Images with a large contrast and a high resolution can be created with an industrial monochrome camera.
An industrial color camera makes use of a Bayer pattern to produce a colored image. The RGB value of every pixel is being calculated by taking the value of a pixel, in combination with all the values of neighboring pixels. This results into less sharp images than those of a monochrome camera.
Due to the RGB filter on the pixels, every single pixel, considering white light, captures on average 66% less photons than a monochrome camera. Which makes a color camera less light sensitive than a monochrome one. To compensate this, the following options are available: - Increase the amount of light
- Increase the gain
- Increase shutter speed / exposure time
- Select a more light sensitive sensor
- Select a more light sensitive lens
Industrial color cameras are used in applications where color information is important.
INDUSTRIAL CAMERA WITH OR WITHOUT POE
Power over Ethernet (PoE) for GigE is designed to provide both power and data communication over a standard Ethernet cable. This reduces the amount of cables and installation time, in applications that do not require a hardware trigger or I/O. When I/O is required in an application we advise to supply the camera via a I/O connector. The camera’s power usage is larger when using Power over Ethernet than via the I/O connector. The camera will generate extra heat when using PoE. A PoE GigE camera is larger than the version without PoE. The advantage of PoE is that installation is easier because less cables are required. The power of an industrial GigE camera without PoE is supplied via the I/O connector. The standard GigE camera is less expensive and generates less heat. The camera is more compact than the version with PoE because less hardware is needed. Connecting an industrial GigE camera without PoE always requires an I/O cable.
