A mobile robot is a robot that is able to move around its environment, rather stay put in one fixed position. Mobile robots are made up of a controller, sensors, actuators and power system. Typically, they are powered by a DC power supply, rather than AC.
Mobile robots can be autonomous, meaning they can navigate their environment without the need for constant control by the user. However, mobile robots can also be configured to rely on directions from you via a predefined navigation route.
Recently mobile robots have become commonplace in certain commercial and industrial settings, including:
