Robotic Pick & Place with Conveyor Tracking and Vision System
Overview
A high-speed automated pick-and-place system was developed to efficiently fill trays with parts using a SCARA robot, supported by an integrated camera-based conveyor tracking solution for precise positioning and quality control.
Application
In this application, parts are continuously fed through a production line and must be accurately picked and placed into moving trays. The system requires precise synchronization between robot motion and conveyor movement, while ensuring correct part orientation and complete tray filling.
senswork created a solution by combining a SCARA robot with an intelligent vision system that enables real-time conveyor tracking and inspection. The robot removes parts directly from the feed line and place them into moving trays. Simultaneously, a single camera system detects part orientation, determines tray position, and verifies correct placement and completeness.
Benefits
- Up to 120 parts per minute throughput
- Multi-tasking with a single camera system
- High precision and process reliability
Conclusion
This solution demonstrates how combining SCARA robotics with advanced vision technology enables high-speed, precise, and reliable automation, while reducing system complexity through intelligent integration.
