BACKGROUND

An automated “smart” forklift company located in Texas has partnered with Antaira Technologies to provide communication products that enhance their automated warehouse technology. The company believes that intelligent, robotic forklifts will become part of the automation landscape. THE CHALLENGE

Within their test warehouse there are large bays where trucks back their trailers into and automated vehicles are deployed to handle the loads. They have integrated several different technologies such as vision cameras, Lidar, scanners & GPS. Vehicles must identify products with barcodes and use positional information to move pallets/products within their system. However, in order to operate efficiently, communication and data is central to this solution.
