Humanoids in Healthcare

The need for assistance in healthcare is critical and the possibilities of what humanoids can offer are growing with each advancement in technology. During the forum, you’ll hear different perspectives and exciting innovations from around the industry. 

Andrea Thomaz, CEO and co-founder of Diligent will kick off the event sharing hard-won lessons from deploying Moxi, the only humanoid robot operating at scale in healthcare today. She’ll delve into what it really takes to make physical AI useful, safe, and embraced by humans. 

Later in the day, Aadeel Akhtar, CEO and founder of PSYONIC will talk about how his company’s advancements in human prosthetics with their bionic hand has directly influenced how robots manipulate objects in unstructured environments. 

Lastly, Michael Yip, professor at UC San Diego and director of their Advanced Robotics and Controls Laboratory, will present a first look at humanoids performing procedures ranging from physical exams to trauma surgery. He’ll share crucial lessons along the way and give insight into the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Humanoids — like Agility Robotics’ Digit — are now working alongside humans in warehouse settings, and the industry at large is eager to scale deployment to meet customer needs.
