GigE Vision Standard

GigE Vision® is hosted by A3, the trade association that represents the global machine vision industry. Twelve leading companies began the GigE Vision standard initiative and today more than 50 companies from around the globe are involved in its ongoing development.

Bob McCurrach is A3’s Director of Standard Development, Vision and he supports and oversees the committee work. GigE Vision Committee Membership is open to interested companies who are members of the A3, EMVA, JIIA VDMA or CMVU. The GigE Vision Committee is currently chaired by Eric Bourbonnais, Software Design Leader at Teledyne DALSA.

GigE Vision User Group

The Vision Standards User Group is a group of people who have active interests in the work of the Technical Committees. User group meetings will be held at major vision shows and be open to the public at large as well. The user group will have an electronic collaboration mechanism that will be monitored by the technical committees. The User Group will:

• Attend user group meetings as appropriate;
• Provide requests to the Technical Committee for consideration

The GigE Vision User Group is open to companies who have a direct and material interest in the standard. You must be an A3, EMVA, JIIA, VDMA or CMVU member in good standing to participate. GigE Vision Technical Committee

The GigE Vision Technical Committee is open to companies who have a direct and material interest in the standard. You must be an A3, EMVA, JIIA, VDMA or CMVU member in good standing to participate. There is a $100 USD annual committee fee and you must contribute at least 80 hours per year to work assignments.
