LEONI Links Automation, Vision, Robotics, and Industry 4.0 at Second Annual Oktoberfest Networking Event

POSTED 08/28/2017

Celebrate the company’s heritage and its focus on automation, vision technology, and robotics at an Oktoberfest-style event at its US headquarters on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

LAKE ORION, MI, USA — LEONI Engineering Products & Services, Inc. (LEONI EPS) celebrates its German roots and the benefits of automation technology during an Oktoberfest-style event on September 14, 2017, at its facility in Lake Orion, Michigan.

The event, held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., is open to representatives from industrial companies from North and Central America and will offer participants a selection of German food and beer as well as technology demonstration stations highlighting the company’s activities in robotics, vision, automation and drive cable products, and automation systems training capabilities. Each demonstration will highlight automation systems for visitors, while LEONI staff members will be available to answer automation-related questions.

“Today, the disparate technologies of vision, automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 are merging to increase manufacturing productivity,” says Jean-Marc Vico, Vice President and General Manager of LEONI EPS. “At this casual yet festive event, our company will demonstrate how such technologies can be successfully integrated while at the same time highlighting the need for education and training in the multiple aspects of the technologies involved.”

Numerous systems and technologies will be shown at the event. They include machine vision-guided lightweight robotics used in collaborative workcells and the company’s latest update to its machine vision-based automotive wheel and tire validation system, which inspects multiple wheel/tire assembly features using 2D and 3D imaging.

In addition, LEONI will highlight its latest LEONI B-Flex cable management system for collaborative and lightweight robotics . The LEONI B-Flex cable management system can be installed on any type of small robot arm profile and on diverse surfaces, such as cast iron, aluminum, and varnish. Numerous off-the-shelf, copper- and fiber-based power bus and custom cables developed for automation applications will also be shown at the event.
