Application and Solution

In the production of electronic assemblies, senswork’s camera system was integrated to perform a comprehensive set of inspections. These include pin inspection to verify the presence, alignment, and integrity of connector pins, coding inspection to ensure correct coding for compatibility and proper assembly, and pluggability inspection to validate connectors for proper fit and alignment. In addition, label content inspection is carried out to verify label data using OCR (Optical Character Recognition), OCV (Optical Character Verification), and Data Matrix code grading.

Multiple cameras were deployed within the system and strategically positioned to capture high-resolution images of critical components. The system processes these images in real time to identify defects or inconsistencies, ensuring consistent production quality.

Results

The system achieves high speed and efficiency, with a maximum image processing and evaluation time of 1.5 seconds per inspection. It delivers high precision, reaching a position accuracy of ± 0.01 mm for traversing axes. Furthermore, it inspects very small text, reliably reading and verifying font sizes as small as 1 mm to ensure compliance with labeling standards. This camera system enables the manufacturer to achieve a high level of quality in their production process.
