Researching Our Robotic Future

Researchers worldwide, part of the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), are actively developing the next wave of automation tools. These innovations, encompassing both hardware and software, target specific industrial needs. For instance, a collaboration between the University of Southern California, Lockheed Martin, and the Southwest Research Institute focuses on enhancing robot performance in composite layup applications. Simultaneously, the Georgia Tech Research Institute is addressing challenges in automated poultry processing with advanced robotic systems. Additionally, A3 members work on foundational tools, like standards and open-source software, to enhance robot interoperability, simplify design, and promote automation adoption.
