DePeuter Packaging and the ARPG
Founded in 2009 and located in Houston Texas, DePeuter Packaging Solutions (DPPS) is a global provider of automated material handling solutions, both fully integrated or stand-alone. Solutions include, but are not limited to: palletizers, de-palletizers, robotic material handling, pick and place, case packaging machines, conveyor systems, and totally integrated factory automation.
Challenge:
Depeuter was assisting end-users manually palletize heavy bags of livestock feed, grass seed, and other bagged products. They needed a well-engineered solution to easily automate the process, increase throughput, and create a safer work environment.
Solution:
The ARPG Bag Gripper, a pneumatic gripper with a hard coating for protection in extreme environments was implemented. This gripper was specifically designed to clamp bags from the sides, preventing misalignment, and maintaining consistency.
Benefits:
The ARPGs superior design provides optimal performance for palletizing bags of varying size and requires little maintenance, minimizing repair costs and significantly reducing scheduled/unscheduled downtime.
The Applied Robotics Palletizing Bag Gripper meets the various needs required for Depeuter and their customers. Moving to an automated process, there has been a substantial increase in throughput, safety, and consistency.
“Easy to install and operate and is well supported by the Applied Robotics Staff. It has been a successful implementation for us and our customers for our bag palletizers”
