Flexiv Grav Enhanced is a force-controlled gripper known for its versatility. Using a gecko-inspired super friction material, the Grav Enhanced can easily pick up spherical objects that would be impossible for a standard parallel gripper.
The Grav Enhanced gripper is not an ordinary parallel gripper. Grav Enhanced operates in two modes: parallel force-control pinching for precise manipulation, and gecko gripping for handling large objects such as a taillight.
In gecko grasping mode:
- The Grav Enhanced uses Flexiv's unique gecko adhesive film technology to achieve firm grasps while applying minimal squeezing force.
- Enables the Grav Enhanced to handle a delicate water balloon without causing it to rupture and lift a 5 kg (11 lbs) weight without the need for excessive gripping force.
The gecko adhesive films are entirely passive:
- No need for additional energy inputs or power-hungry vacuum pumps.
- Making Grav Enhanced ideal for mobile platform integration or flexible production lines.
