Applied Motion Products Product

StepSERVO closed loop stepper technology combines the high torque capabilities of a step motor with the closed loop dynamic control of a servo system. The result is a high performance, all-in-one motion control solution that operates quietly and efficiently, requiring only the minimum amount of current to maintain commanded position and velocity. Peak torque up to 50% higher than the rated holding torque increases the limits of acceleration and leads to faster cycle times. With software-selectable servo loops that have been pre-tuned for various inertial loads, StepSERVO integrated motors are easy to set up and can be applied in systems where a traditional step motor would not be capable of achieving the high accuracy required.
StepSERVO integrated motors are drive+motor units, fusing a hybrid step motor and a closed loop servo drive into a single device. Power to the drive, located at the rear of the motor, must be supplied by an external DC supply, typically 24 or 48 volts DC.
The StepSERVO Integrated Motor offering comes in NEMA frame sizes 11, 17, 23, 24 and 34. There are three families of StepSERVO Integrated Motors to choose from:
SSM integrated motors:
- NEMA 23 frame size motors.
- Ethernet (RJ-45) for programming.
- EtherNet/IP industrial networking standard.
- Three motor lengths (stack lengths) available.
TSM integrated motors:
- NEMA 11, NEMA 17, NEMA 23 and NEMA 34 frame size motors.
- RS-232, RS-485 or Ethernet (RJ-45) for programming and streaming commands.
- Control options include CANopen fieldbus control, EtherNet/IP industrial networking, Modbus RTU or TCP, digital step & direction control, analog velocity mode, streaming commands and stand-alone operation using stored Q programs.
- Multiple motor lengths available in each frame size.
TXM integrated motors:
- IP65 rated for wet and dusty environments, such as splash zones.
- NEMA 24 and NEMA 34 frame size motors.
- RS-232, RS-485 or Ethernet (M12, including dual-port) for programming, streaming commands and fieldbus/networking.
- Control options include CANopen fieldbus control, EtherNet/IP industrial networking, Modbus RTU or TCP, digital step & direction control, analog velocity mode, streaming commands and stand-alone operation using stored Q programs.
