Diabetes Medication Assembly System, Semiconductor Substrate Panel Product Each Earn “Hitachi Inspiration of the Year Global Awards” for JR Automation

JR Automation, a leading global systems integrator and wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), announced that it has won two awards from its parent company as part of their annual Hitachi Inspiration of the Year Global Awards (IYGA) competition. The program is a long-standing tradition at Hitachi, recognizing remarkable activities that contribute to enhancing Hitachi’s brand value by demonstrating the Hitachi Group Identity. The award also nurtures a “One Hitachi” mindset among all Hitachi Group employees. 

In the Americas region, JR Automation was awarded the “Innovation Award” for developing a highly reliable, high-throughput automation solution that helped a Fortune 150 pharmaceutical company meet the surging demand for diabetes medication worldwide. Specifically, the company needed to significantly increase capacity for production in a reduced timeframe for one of their diabetic drug delivery devices. 

JR Automation’s PSB division won the “Special Recognition Award” in the Southeast Asia region for breaking into the semiconductor industry with a new Panel-level Format EFEM (Equipment Front End Module) product.  The product, which is now available worldwide, handles up to 600x600 mm Copper Core, Glass Core and Glass Panels substrate panels.  More information on the product can be found at: https://www.jrautomation.com/semiconductor-substrate-panel-handling-efem

The awards were not the first time JR Automation was recognized in the IYGA competition since being acquired by Hitachi in 2019. In 2020, JR Automation won IYGA’s highest honor, the “Grand Prix Award,” for its collaboration with General Motors in deploying a medical face mask assembly line in six days.
