Lenze Hosts Students on Inaugural Massachusetts Manufacturing Day
Corporate presentation and plant tour spotlight career opportunities in advanced manufacturing
UXBRIDGE, MA – Lenze Americas welcomed 40 high school students from the Blackstone Valley area in celebration of the inaugural Massachusetts Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 3, 2014. Hosted by the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation and the National Park Service, the Massachusetts Manufacturing Day pilot commemorated National Manufacturing Day by showcasing regional manufacturers to students who may choose to pursue manufacturing careers.
“Lenze employees were privileged to volunteer for this important opportunity to provide a window into today’s dynamic manufacturing field — and to encourage young people to consider dynamic manufacturing careers,” stated Chuck Edwards, president, Lenze.
Students participated in a Lenze presentation introducing the global manufacturer and various career opportunities available. Seasoned and new professionals at Lenze provided students firsthand insights into potential career paths, shared what attracted them to the manufacturing field, and highlighted the important roles they play in bringing Lenze products to market. Lenze hosted students on a tour of the Uxbridge facility, which included experience on the plant floor where advanced manufacturing takes place.
“Massachusetts Manufacturing Day provided a unique opportunity to connect with tomorrow’s professionals. The future of manufacturing depends on educating and engaging youth with potential to enter the field,” added Edwards. “Manufacturing offers fascinating, highly skilled and high tech career paths with competitive compensation and upward mobility. There’s never been a better time to become a manufacturing professional.”
