Smart maritime communication: Cincoze industrial computers empower high-efficiency solutions
POSTED 12/19/2024
Efficiency and security are critical considerations for modern network-based maritime communication and management systems using multiple communication networks, including VSAT, MSS, 4G/5G, and Starlink. This secure, real-time, rich data exchange between ships and shore has made remote IT management a reality, significantly improving fleet operation efficiency and network security, and becoming a cornerstone of the sustainable development of the maritime economy.
Cincoze’s customer is a world leader in smart network solutions, relying on cutting-edge technology to provide seamless, secure connections, and excellent digital experiences in extreme maritime environments. They have integrated the Cincoze DC-1100 industrial computer into their maritime communication and management system. Because it provides stable and efficient data transmission and features a compact design for installation in constrained spaces, high reliability to cope with harsh offshore environments, and a selection of I/O interfaces to connect with various devices.
Product Requirements
Compact design for control cabinet installation
The industrial computer must be small enough to fit within the space constraints of a 19-inch cabinet installed in the ship’s cabin.
Multiple network interface support
The maritime communication and management system must support multiple communication solutions, including VSAT, 4G/5G, and Starlink, to ensure the ships stay connected stably and efficiently around the globe. The industrial computer needs to have various interfaces, such as LAN, COM, USB, etc., to connect with various communication and other external devices.
Reliable and adaptable to offshore environments
The industrial computer must have a shock and vibration resistant design, wide temperature support, and ESD protection to cope with harsh conditions like hull vibration, extreme temperature changes, high humidity, and electromagnetic interference. It must also support wide voltage input and have power protection to handle the ship’s unstable power supply.

Why Cincoze?
Compact design
The Cincoze DC-1100 industrial computer has a compact design of only 185 x 131 x 56.15 mm, so it easily fits in the shipboard cabinet. It also supports wall mounting and DIN rail installation most commonly found in those cabinets.
Sufficient I/O and expandability
The Cincoze DC-1100 has two 1GbE LAN interfaces that connect with satellite communications equipment, providing high-speed and stable network connections. The built-in wake-on-LAN function supports remote startup, facilitates system maintenance and data transmission, and improves fleet efficiency. The DC-1100 also provides two Mini-PCIe slots for Wi-Fi and 4G/5G modules to meet flexible wireless needs. Four COM ports (RS-232/422/485) connect to other equipment, ensuring stable ship communication and improving operational efficiency and safety.
Excellent reliability
The DC-1100 is ideal for maritime communication and management systems because it can operate stably in extreme environments. Its wide temperature (-25°C to 70°C) and wide voltage (9V to 48V DC) support, along with 5G/50G shock and vibration resistance, can cope with challenges such as complex maritime climates, hull vibration, and voltage fluctuations. It has industrial-grade overvoltage and overcurrent protection to effectively resist electromagnetic interference and has obtained multiple EMC certifications such as CE, UKCA, FCC, and ICES-003 Class A.
