Custom-tailored robot system

Pneutronic AG relies on our solutions for its custom systems. This Swiss company appreciates the quality of our products, our solution-oriented approach, and our professional and uncomplicated way of working. An example of our cooperation is the jointly created robotic system for loading workpieces for the hardening shop. During planning and implementation, there were a few things we had to consider: The desired custom system needs to be able to operate 24 hours a day and convey both loose and very thin parts – for various kinds of further processing. Furthermore, requests were made for an appropriate substructure and a compact design.

Modular standard components

We used our standardized belt conveyors and the modular MPS aluminum framing system as the basis for the robotic system. The advantages are clear: The standardized components are cost-efficient, available quickly, and yet they can be adapted flexibly to the individual needs of Pneutronic AG.

To guarantee safe and efficient transport of the various parts, we integrated specific notches and broader side guides into the robotic system. Switches control the material flow and inclined belt conveyors move products to separating stations. A 3D vision captures the workpieces, and a SCARA robot separates the punched parts on hardening rods. This custom system also evenly distributes the punched parts and includes a frictionless rod and a level change for the hardening furnace rack.

So that the custom system remains flexible, we used a flexible substructure. This way, changes can be made even after the fact in order to react to unexpected challenges.
