Introducing the Association for Advancing Automation (A3)

You might be asking -

Who is A3 and why are we launching this website? I’m glad you asked!

A3 is the umbrella association for the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), AIA - the association for Advancing Vision + Imaging, and the Motion Control Association (MCA). RIA, AIA, and MCA combined represent some 750 automation manufacturers, component suppliers, system integrators, end users, research groups and consulting firms from throughout the world.

We are the global advocate for the benefits of automating.

We promote automation technologies and ideas that transform the way business is done. Our member companies in the robotics, machine vision and motion control industries include the people and technologies that are driving the automation industry forward.

What We Do

We serve the members of RIA, AIA and MCA and the automation industry as a whole. We host trade shows, conferences and other networking events, produce leading websites on automation technologies, collect industry statistics and generate market research, develop consensus standards, provide multiple certification programs and engage in a wide variety of other educational activities. We work with industry leaders from our more than 750 member organizations around the world, and are always coming up with new ways to serve them better.

The A3 staff is here to help you. Our staff consists of experts in the areas of association executive leadership, marketing, membership, statistics, standards, communications, social media and websites.

Why We’re Launching This Website

The board members and leadership of our associations realized that there was a need for an energetic voice for the industry, focusing on “why” automating is good. Our associations RIA, AIA and MCA will continue their focus on “how” companies and organizations can specifically apply robots, vision and motion control.

Our website and blogs will tell the story about why automating is good for business.

We believe that:

  • Automating produces a better quality product.
  • Automation makes a business more productive while reducing costs.
  • Using automation technologies is safer for employees.
  • Automation provides businesses with a competitive advantage, especially when competing globally.
  • Automation creates jobs, including better, higher paying and more satisfying jobs.

These benefits are just the beginning and future blogs will touch on all of these areas.

Our goal is to use this website to engage with you. We also want to have a conversation with those that question the benefits of automation. And we’ll use this website to prove to business leaders who aren’t currently automating that they should. If you’re not sure how automation could help your business, let’s talk. We want to have an open dialogue and help you along the way.

Take a moment to sign-up for email updates and we’ll send you a quick synopsis of new articles published here on our blog. This is a great way to stay up-to-date on the key automation innovations, perspectives, and tools.

We are excited to serve you and welcome your feedback and thoughts below.
