Barrington, N.J. - Edmund Optics (EO), the premier provider of optical components, announced today that it has doubled it's offering of stock Zinc Selenide Plano-Convex (PCX) Lenses. These lenses are an ideal choice for high power laser applications, thermal imaging, FLIR, and medical systems.
8-12μm AR coated models now available
Zinc Selenide Plano-Convex (PCX) Lenses are available individually, in diameters of 12.7, 25.4 and 50.8mm with a variety of focal lengths in both uncoated and 8-12μm AR coated models.The anti-reflection coating is optimizes to have less than 0.5% reflection from 7.5 - 13.5µm. A lens kit containing all nine uncoated 25.4mm diameter Zinc Selenide PCX lenses is also offered.
Usable transmission range of 600nm to 16μm
Zinc Selenide Plano-Convex (PCX) Lenses offer a usable transmission range of 600nm to 16μm with low dispersion. Lenses with the 8-12µm anti-reflection coating are ideal for thermal imaging applications. Zinc Selenide is a chemically vapor deposited material that requires careful handling during mounting and cleaning, as it has a Knoop Hardness of 120. It is not recommended for use in harsh environments or for handling with tweezers or other tools.
