The deadline for Robots & Vision User Recognition Award nominations is quickly approaching.  Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and Automated Imaging Association (AIA) will be accepting nominations for this prestigious award until Friday, December 8.

The Robots & Vision User Recognition Award is presented every two years in conjunction with the International Robots & Vision Show.  The award is given to a company that has successfully applied robotics and machine vision technology to improve product quality, boost productivity, save money and strengthen their competitive advantage.

The winner of the 1999 award was Pioneer Hi-Bred International for using robots and machine vision to depalletize bags of agricultural seed.  As a result of its robotics and vision system, Pioneer dramatically reduced labor costs from 44 cents per bag to 22 cents per bag, and gained other benefits such as reduced employee injuries.

The next award will be presented during a special ceremony at the upcoming International Robots & Vision Show June 5-7, 2001 in Chicago.  For a copy of the nomination form, click here or call (734) 994-6088.
