Toshiba Teli Corporation Opens First North American Subsidiary, Toshiba Teli America, Inc., Appoints Doug Freck President & CEO

IRVINE, CA/TOKYO, JAPAN, February 21, 2005 — In line with its aggressive global expansion strategy, Toshiba Teli Corporation, one of the world’s leading ISO 9001 certified manufacturers of video cameras for industrial applications, today announced the formation of Toshiba Teli America, Inc., its first subsidiary in the United States, and the appointment of Doug Freck as President and CEO of the new company.

The new Toshiba Teli America, Inc. faculty will house all U.S. based sales, engineering, service and warehousing operations. It is located at 33 Hammond, Suite 211, Irvine, Ca. 92618. The opening ceremony and start of operations are scheduled for March 1, 2005.

Recognized worldwide for innovation, reliability and quality, Toshiba Teli CMOS and CCD cameras, camera scopes, monitors and video control equipment will be sold by Toshiba Teli America, Inc., through a strategic network of North American distributors, dealers and an internal sales force under the Teli brand name.  Used in a wide range of industrial vision, factory automation, quality control, and scientific applications, these cameras and imaging systems had previously only been available to North American buyers via limited distribution.

DOUG FRECK NAMED PRESIDENT & CEO
Toshiba veteran Doug Freck has been named President and CEO of Toshiba Teli America, Inc., and been commissioned to develop its operational infrastructure throughout North America. He will oversee all sales, engineering, warehousing, marketing and customer support activities.

According to Freck, Toshiba Teli America, Inc. will be a gateway to the North American market, enabling Toshiba Teli to better service its growing OEM customer base, accelerate sales momentum, and adapt more quickly to changing conditions and technologies: ‘‘Toshiba Teli products developed in Japan have already generated a groundswell of interest in North America.
