TECHSPEC® Single Axis Crossed-Roller Translation Stages Provide High Accuracy, Rigidity and Load CapacityMarch 2, 2010, Barrington, N.J. - Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces its new TECHSPEC® Single Axis Crossed-Roller Translation Stages.  The stages feature an advanced crossed-roller guide system, which provides higher accuracy, rigidity and load capacity for a variety of applications.  The precision stages offer exact positioning with a straight-line accuracy of 2 μm. A unique single-piece design combining the top and bottom plate with the guide rails further enhances rigidity and accuracy. 
 
Flexible system available in four sizes
 
Edmund Optics' TECHSPEC Single Axis Crossed-Roller Translation Stages are available in either English or Metric configuration with solid tabletop and thru-hole models.  The stages are available in 30 mm, 40 mm, 70 mm and 125 mm versions.  Each of the stages is designed to integrate with the other size stages as well as integrate with other TECHSPEC components for greater flexibility.  This flexibility allows the user to configure the system in numerous arrangements up to six axes configurations.  Combined with high accuracy, these stages are designed to address wide variety of applications including laser and vision systems, microscopy and automation.  TECHSPEC Single Axis Crossed-Roller Translation Stages are Class 100 (ISO 5) Clean Room Compatible.
 
Center and side drive configurations available in Metric and English versions
 
The thru-hole model of the TECHSPEC Crossed-Roller Translation Stages feature a standard size and thread center hole for mounting S, C or T mount components.  All of the stages are available with micrometer or lead screw with either center or side drive configuration.  All stages feature a locking mechanism, ideal for OEM applications.  A special Z bracket is sold separately for use in a Z-axis setup.
