Speakers Sought for The Vision East Conference in Boston, October 29 - November 1, 2001

Ann Arbor, Michigan - Industry leaders with practical, real-world experience solving machine vision problems are sought to give talks at The Vision East Conference in Boston, October 29-November 1, 2001.

"What makes our annual Vision Conference so successful is that the presentations focus on information that users need to successfully apply machine vision," said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Director of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA), the industry trade group that sponsors the event.  "We deliberately avoid theory and research talks so that we can concentrate on solutions-oriented information."

The Vision East Conference accompanies The Vision East trade show, running October 30-November 1, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.  AIA's first Vision East show in April 2000 attracted some 2,500 visitors, and the 2001 show is expected to be even larger.

"We've already sold more exhibit space for Vision East 2001 than we ended up with at the 2000 show, and there's still several months to go," Burnstein said.  "There is a tremendous amount of interest in machine vision technology in North America and Europe, and Boston is a convenient show location for current and prospective users."

AIA will not be holding a show on the west coast in 2001, but expects to return to the west coast in 2002.  The association is cosponsoring the International Robots & Vision Show in Chicago, June 5-7, 2001.
