Baumer Ltd.

SmartReflect Photoelectric Sensors from BaumerBaumer introduces photoelectric sensors with the new SmartReflect principle for absolutely reliable object detection. These light barriers create a closed light beam between the sensor and machine part. A separate reflector is unnecessary, reducing operating costs and increasing process safety. SmartReflect light barriers recognize objects of any kind.

FNDH and FNDR 14 SmartReflect light barriers in hygienic and washdown design are specially optimized for stainless steel surfaces such as can be found in food processing or packaging machines. These EHEDG certified sensors in stainless steel housing have a long range of 800 mm with reflection on stainless steel, making them ideal for the 60 cm wide conveyor belts typically found in food processing. The elimination of the reflector as the weak spot ensures an increased process security. Thanks to the SmartReflect principle, the sensor function is not impaired by contamination or process-related changes of the machine part.

In adjustment mode, the sensor indicates when the received light signal is qualitatively best for reliable detection. This is especially useful with inclined surfaces, such as those found in food processing machines, and together with the comfortable one-point teach-in it saves time during installation.

The Baumer Group is a leading international manufacturer of sensors and system solutions for factory and process automation. In 2011 the innovative family-owned company employs about 2,500 people worldwide in 36 locations and 18 countries. The long lasting success is built on high customer focus as well as the innovative and diversified product range of the product segments Sensor Solutions, Motion Control, Vision Technologies, Process Instrumentation, and Gluing Systems.
