Release 2.0 of the 3D camera 3D03
POSTED 01/21/2013
In
the last couple of months Photonfocus has upgraded its firmware of the MV1-D2048x1088-3D03-760-G2-8 camera. With the backwards compatible release a number of new features has been introduced and significant improvements in the firmware achieved.

The most noticeable improvement for the user is the increase of the scan rate up to 10'000 light sections per second and the improvement of the line scan mode. The line scan function got enhanced by an independent setting from gain and offset, which is no longer dependent from the laser triangulation and with an additional FPN correction, which leads to a clearly better quality of the 2D images.
Beside this Photonfocus widen the trigger interface trough a couple of new functions which facilitates the system implementation. The launch of test pictures for the detection of failures in 3D machine vision applications completes the new firmware release. The new firmware release is accompanied by an enlarged and improved PF3D suite software. The most important renewals of the version V2.34 are a meaningful amount of new viewers for the data with integrated zoom as well as the display of pixel and sub-pixel information. Moreover the dual peak mode of the 3D03 gets supported with all the features of the camera. For the failure detection in a 3D image system you can analyze immediate the status information of the camera.
To ease the calibration of the measured data, which means the transformation of the pixel coordinates into a metric data format, and to facilitate the analysis of the captured 3D data from the 3D cameras of Photonfocus we offer the camera with the 3D software Sal3D and 3D Express from Aqsense in a bundle.
If you would like to test the new release of the 3D camera in your application you can loan a camera to test the features. To do so please get in touch with your local distributor of Photonfocus products or write an email to us on [email protected]. Our 3D camera products are also available as OEM modules or board level cameras. On demand we can also offer to you customer specific features.
Please visit us also on our Photonfocus booth at the Automate Show in Chicago (January 22-24, 2013) and the SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco (February 5-7, 2013)!
