Radiant Director of Advanced Vision Engineering to be Featured Speaker in “Understanding Machine Vision for Industrial Inspection” Webinar

POSTED 08/09/2018

REDMOND, Wash.  — Radiant Vision Systems, a leading provider of advanced visual test and inspection systems for electronic devices, announces that it will participate in a webinar hosted by Tech Briefs Media Group, a global engineering solutions source for design and manufacturing. The webinar titled “Understanding Machine Vision for Industrial Inspection” will be broadcast live on Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 9-10:00 AM PDT (12-1:00 PM EDT), and includes a technical presentation by Radiant Director of Advanced Vision Engineering, Andy Blowers, Ph.D., (co-presenting with technical experts from Omron Microscan and Edmund Optics), followed by a live audience question and answer session with all presenters, moderated by Tech Briefs Media Group’s Lisa Arrigo.

Machine vision is a vital tool for optimizing and monitoring industrial processes. These imaging systems enable manufacturers to inspect products at high speed, capturing and storing information on the production process. Used in applications from medical to test and measurement, machine vision systems are a critical part of defect detection. Hosted by the editors of Tech Briefs Media Group and featuring presentations by three top experts in the machine vision field, this 60-minute technical webinar looks at machine vision systems and how to choose the appropriate components for a particular application. It also examines what to expect the system to do – or not do – and how the proper choice of cameras and optics can ensure the highest level of performance.

Attendees of the webinar will learn:

  • How to ensure traceability of machine vision inspection data using auto ID
  • How to use advanced vision for surface inspection on final assemblies to detect subtle scratches, dings, dents, and particles
  • How to choose optical components that provide the power for high-caliber image inspection

Join Radiant Director of Advanced Vision Engineering, Andy Blowers, Ph.D., as he presents image-based visual inspection solutions for detecting the finest details and flaws in end-of-line device assemblies and surfaces. An industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in the field of machine vision, Andy has held the position of Chief Technology Officer for Medar Corp. and Integral Vision Inc. before joining Radiant in 2015. He earned his Ph.D. in machine vision at De Montfort University, United Kingdom.
