System Integrators Embracing Power over Camera Link (PoCL) Technology Now Can Choose from Six Toshiba Teli Cameras
IRVINE, CA, March 10, 2010 -- Aggressively positioning itself for leadership in the PoCL-equipped camera marketplace, Toshiba Teli America, Inc. has added six (6) PoCL monochrome and color cameras to its machine vision lineup including a 2-megapixel camera capable of running 30 frames-per-second (fps).
"PoCL simplifies the connection of the camera to compatible frame grabbers by supplying power over the Camera Link cable," said Doug Freck, President/CEO of Toshiba Teli America, Inc. "Now that the AIA has approved the standard, Toshiba Teli is empowering system integrators to fully leverage the benefits of PoCL in their designs."
Much like Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) which is widely used in the video surveillance industry, PoCL allows a single cable to carry the power supply, high-speed image transfer, and camera control to save time, money and space.
Dubbed by Toshiba Teli the CleverDragon™ line, the PoCL-equipped camera models are:
• CSCV90BC3: 90 fps, VGA (640 x 480) monochrome cube with 1/3" CCD
• CSCX30BC3: 30 fps XGA (1024 x 768) monochrome cube with 1/3" CCD
• CSCS20BC2: 20 fps, SXGA (1392 x 1040) monochrome cube with 1/2" CCD
• CSCU15BC18: 15 fps, UXGA (1628 x 1236) monochrome cube with 1/1.8" CCD
• CSCU30BC18: 30 fps, UXGA (1628 x 1236) monochrome cube with 1/1.8" CC
• CSCU30CC18: 30 fps, UXGA (1628 x 1236) color cube with 1/1.8" CCD
All 5MP and under Toshiba Teli CleverDragon™ cameras share an impressive feature set highlighted by a square grid array CCD, random trigger shutter, programmable partial scan for faster frame rates, and ultra-compact, space-saving and lightweight form factors measuring either 29mm x 29mm x 26.5mm, or 54mm x 43mm x 59mm.
