New ‘‘Sensors That See™’‘ Identity from LMI Technologies
POSTED 10/17/2006
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada ---- LMI Technologies Inc. (LMI), along with its DynaVision® and Selcom® Divisions, have introduced a new ‘‘Sensors That See™’‘ global identity and logo.
LMI Technologies Inc. and its international divisions operate as an integrated research, development, engineering, and manufacturing group producing true color, 2D and 3D Vision Sensor Solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and system integrators. LMI sensors are typically used in commercial and industrial automated systems and controls.
In addition to the new logo, LMI Technologies has redesigned its web site and changed the domain name from www.lmint.com to www.sensorsthatsee.com. Also changed is the company wide e-mail addresses to reflect the new Sensors That See™ identity.
Tracey Loslo, Strategic Marketing Officer, LMI Technologies Inc., explains the company’s new global identity:
‘‘We looked to simply communicate what we do: engineer and manufacture ‘Sensors That See.’‘ Although optical inspection in process optimization is now widely adopted, industry often finds the complexities of machine vision component integration for multiple function faster and/or higher accuracy applications challenging. We simplify their task thus a straight-forward slogan fit.
Loslo continues: ‘‘LMI’s technical staff is often engaged by OEM’s, Academic Institutions and Government Authorities around the world to consult in developing their application specific vision solution. The more we have exchanged ideas with these industry pioneers over the past three decades, the more efficient and effective we have become.’‘
Each vision requirement within a plant, a mill, or even highway has its own unique environmental, geometric, and surface anomalies, Loslo explains.
‘‘In the end, all industry wants is a fast, accurate and reliable sensor that ‘‘sees’‘ what they need it to see. That’s what LMI, DynaVision, and Selcom deliver: Sensors That See™.
LMI Technologies has built its reputation by continually developing their market understanding, customer partnerships, technical innovations and product excellence. Their distinctive advantage lies in their people and three decades of experience, producing over 50,000 sensors for hundreds of automated applications. Having earned over 100 vision driven patents LMI expertly embeds its value and insight in all its customer’s Sensors That See™ projects.
Companies can contact a market specialist for application inquiries in industries such as automotive, metals, robot guidance, rubber and tire, transportation and wood by visiting www.sensorsthatsee.com that provides a direct industry link in the sample markets section. Companies can also call any of our worldwide office locations listed on the site.
OEM and System Integrator Capabilities
The new identity also captures LMI Technologies capability for rapid customization of sensors for OEM’s and systems integrators in numerous automated vision, control and measurement applications.
This has been made possible by the development of LMI’s award winning FireSync® platform – a sensor vision toolkit that combines hardware, software and rugged industrial packaging. All the components, including the housing are configured to meet each application demanding specifications within a very short period of time.
According to Loslo, LMI has the expertise to develop sensors that utilize flexible, scalable, high-speed vision components within 45 days.
‘‘This allows OEM and systems integrators to focus their development effort on delivering next generation industrial equipment and optimization software,’‘ Loslo said. ‘‘Using FireSync, OEM customers can fast-track the design cycles by eliminating the need to develop, design and integrate the sensor vision technology since that is being done for them by LMI team members. As an added service, LMI maintains hardware and software compatibility for up to seven years, avoiding costly redesign of existing products for their customers.’‘
LMI’s rapid development capabilities for tailoring OEM market solutions are possible due to its globally integrated team, with research, development, engineering and manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Ireland.
