FireBird 8xCXP12 Frame Grabber
Designed for bandwidth-intensive multi-CoaXPress camera systems, the new FireBird 8xCXP-12 frame grabber with a PCIe 3.o (Gen3) x8 interface from Active Silicon supports either two 4-connection CXP-6 cameras or four 2-connection CXP-6 cameras.
Each connection receives up to 12.5 Gbps, ensuring super-fast, reliable data capture for real-time processing and analysis.
The frame grabber is intended for applications where multiple cameras are used in a system. These include 3D volumetric or stereo imaging applications as found in metrology, medical imaging, scientific research, or high-speed inspection. With Active Silicon’s ActiveDMA technology, the frame grabber or multiple frame grabbers in a system can DMA data directly to the PC or GPU. This technology enables the development of complex image analysis systems.
FireBird frame grabbers benefit from Active Silicon’s software development kit, ActiveSDK, facilitating rapid system development and integration. The SDK provides comprehensive example applications and optimized libraries, and supports a variety of operating systems via a common API, including Windows and Linux (64-bit environments). Drivers for third-party applications, such as Cognex VisionPro, HALCON, Common Vision Blox, StreamPix, LabVIEW, MATLAB etc. are available.
As with all FireBird frame grabbers, GenICam support is provided with the drivers, including a GenTL Producer for data streaming and register accesses.
