Machine Vision Supplier Imperx Opens Moscow Office

POSTED 03/10/2006

Serving Europe and Asia

9 March 2006 (Boca Raton, Fla.) --  Seeking to better serve its customers in Europe and Asia, machine vision supplier Imperx has opened a software development and customer support office in Moscow, Russia, and staffed it with engineers plucked from the Russian aerospace industry. ‘‘These engineers have solid expertise and diverse experience, which allows them to take on the most challenging tasks,’‘says Imperx President and CEO Petko Dinev, Ph.D. ‘‘They all got their starts in the Russian space program, developing astronomy-based software for star tracking, mapping, imaging, and so forth.’‘

Imperx’ ties with the engineers reach back to the company’s inception, when, in a consulting capacity, they helped develop the company’s advanced image acquisition and analysis software. When Imperx decided to provide local support for their European and Asian customers, it was natural for them to look to their Russian associates.

'‘Our new Moscow office’s mission is to support all Imperx’ software development needs,’‘ Dinev continues, ‘‘including drivers, applications, software development kits (SDK’s) and test programs, and to provide technical support to all of our clients.’‘The Moscow branch office employs five technical staffers, including General Manager Oleg Margorin, who is also the Senior Software Developer. ‘‘Our staff includes three software developers, a test engineer and accounting,’‘ he says. ‘‘We are all very pleased to be an integral part of the Imperx family and look forward to helping our Asian and European customers get the most out of their machine-vision investments. Our geographic location is perfect for serving customers in European and Asian time zones, and support logistics will be faster and easier than they would be from a center in Florida.’‘

‘‘For now,’‘ says Dinev, ‘‘all the software will be Microsoft Windows based, but our Moscow engineers want to expand to other platforms, such as Macintosh and Linux. We are also planning to add an applications engineer to the Moscow staff as well.’‘

About Imperx
Imperx, Inc. designs, develops and manufactures advanced, state-of-the-art imaging products used in the machine vision, medical, and defense, surveillance and astronomy markets – wherever there is a need to capture high-resolution digital color or black/white images for both still and full-rate motion processing.
