Machine Vision Center Of Excellence set up in Chennai based Engineering College

From www.machinist.in: Chennai – The TIFAC Center Of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) in Machine Vision was inaugurated by Dr. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, at the Rajalakshmi Engineering College in Chennai on 30th July.
This center is intended to provide exposure to Machine Vision technology to the academia, and to give industries the opportunity to adopt machine vision for automated inspection and manufacturing needs.
The center houses a Machine Vision Lab which could be used to train engineers and students in the practical applications of Machine Vision in industry. The center will also offer consultancy services for industrial project needs.
Soliton is a major sponsor and core member of this Center. The company demonstrated it's product range (FireWire cameras, smart cameras and LED lighting) which is used for Bearing inspection, Spark plug inspection, Automated gauge reading and calibration using GaugeVIEW, Eye drop bottle seal inspection and PCB inspection.
The event was attended by industrialists and academicians, including faculty and students of various colleges and research institutes.
