LMI Technologies' Offers Custom Designed and Manufactured Sensors to OEMs to Meet Specific Needs and Applications
DETROIT, Michigan --- LMI Technologies (USA), Inc., a market leader and innovator in the field of non-contact laser measurement, has expanded its capabilities into custom designing and manufacturing customized sensors for large OEM’s.
According to Mike Snow, Regional Sales Manager for LMI Technologies (USA), Inc. in Detroit, Michigan, the company’s expanded capabilities in the OEM custom design market are possible due to its membership in the LMI Group which has research and development, engineering and manufacturing facilities in both North America and Europe.
LMI Technologies offers more sensors than most other companies -- with fast response rates up to 500 kHz, greater accuracy with resolutions down to 45 nanometers and cost competitive prices that meet most industrial needs.
With more than 30 years of industrial experience, LMI Technologies has non-contact sensors on-line in most industries including general industry, rubber and tire, automotive, aluminum, robotic guidance, building materials, road inspection, molten metals and many more.
‘‘We have emerged as a leader in non-contact measurement with more sensor and project capabilities,’‘ Snow noted. ‘‘Companies come to us with their measurement problems and normally find an existing sensor in our product line to meet their specifications. If they don’t, we now have the capabilities to provide them with a customized product.’‘
Snow added that with LMI Technologies (USA), Inc’s expanded capabilities, they can help large OEM’s with a measurement problem.
‘‘We provide proven innovative measurement solutions for most industries and have sold over 15,000 non-contact sensors worldwide,’‘ Snow noted. ‘‘Typical measurements include oscillation, thickness, contact-height, paper thickness profile, material deformation, width, height, long range and roller-gap measurement in addition to 3-D surface scanning and several custom applications.’‘
According to Snow, the expansion into the customized sensor area grew from a demand for this service by large OEM’s.
‘‘We had a lot of inquiries but didn’t seriously consider this market until we become part of the LMI Group,’‘ Snow said. ‘‘Since then, LMI Technologies (USA), Inc. and its sister companies have helped several OEM’s with designs of customized sensors to meet particular applications.’‘
LMI Technologies (USA), Inc. is part of LMI Technologies, Inc., a world leader in laser-based 3D Machine Vision sensors for process monitoring and control in various industries. The company has more than 40 vision and laser sensor models and over 100 issued and pending patents.
