International Robots & Vision Show Moves to Chicago; Exhibit Space Selling Quickly

ANN ARBOR, Michigan - Exhibit space is going fast for the biennial International Robots & Vision Show, to be held June 5-7, 2001, at the Rosemont Convention Center in Chicago.

Acccording to RIA's Executive Vice President Donald A. Vincent, more than 60 exhibitors have already signed up. "I expect that the final number will surpass the 160 companies that exhibited at the 1999 show," he said. 

Vincent added that he also expects attendance to increase at the 2001 show. "Holding the show in Chicago will give us a great opportunity to seek out prospective robot and vision users in a wide variety of manufacturing industries, particularly in non-automotive markets," he said. The 1999 Show held in Detroit had nearly 6,300 attendees, which was a 24 percent increase over 1997.

Attendees at the Robots & Vision Show represent virtually every manufacturing industry, including automotive, consumer goods, electronics, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, plastics and semiconductor. "The show offers solutions for manufacturers in all of these industries that help them maximize their profitability and competitiveness," said Vincent.

The Robots & Vision Show has a long history dating back to 1975. "There are a lot of shows out there, and people have limited time to attend them," said Vincent. "The Robots & Vision Show has stood the test of time and established a record of excellence making it a must-attend for any companies serious about these technologies."

The 2001 Robots & Vision Show will be co-located with three other major industry trade shows: Sensors Expo, Motion Control Expo and Finishing 2001. All Robots & Vision Show registrants get free attendance at the other three shows.

The Robots & Vision Show is accompanied by an in-depth technical conference, which features a variety of sessions and tutorials on robotics and machine vision issues for the novice to the seasoned professional.

Two new Internet sites will help increase promotion of the 2001 Robots & Vision Show. Robotics Online and Machine Vision Online, to be launched in March 2000, will include feature articles, case studies, technical papers, a comprehensive buyer's guide, tips for new users, events, jobs, discussion groups and much more.

The Robots & Vision Show is sponsored jointly by the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and Automated Imaging Association (AIA). RIA and AIA also co-sponsor the Modern Marketing Conference, to be held July 24-25, 2000 in New York. Modern Marketing is the only conference designed exclusively for industrial automation marketers.
