Fast Image Acquisition by New Dual GigE Cameras of the LX Series

Baumer is expanding the LX series with fast 2 and 4 megapixel models. The 2 megapixel camera featuring the CMV2000 global shutter CMOS sensor provides up to 105 frames per second and is ideal for inspection tasks with demanding throughput requirements. Image acquisition with finer detail is enabled by the 4 megapixel model with CMV4000 sensor, supplying up to 56 fps. The LX series therefore now includes resolutions of 2, 4, 8, 12 and 20 megapixels. Merging outstanding sensitivity with excellent image quality, a multitude of applications is mastered by a single camera series. This helps cut down on integration cost.

Thanks to the included Dual GigE interface, LX series cameras deliver twice the frame rate of standard single GigE cameras and hence cut transmission time by half. This results in improved image processing system reaction time. The sensor communicates at full speed to achieve significantly higher ROI frame rates such as 750 fps with VGA resolution. Burst mode even allows for short-sequence acquisition with 2 megapixel and 337 fps. Functions like binning, decimation, sequencer or multi ROI further improve application throughput. Therefore, typically complex CameraLink systems can be replaced by cost-efficient GigE Vision for specific applications. The cameras are optionally available with lens protection to prevent damage as well as unintended adjustment of the focus or shutter. LX series cameras are ideal for many demanding applications such as PCB, semiconductor or surface inspection as well as 2D/3D metrology.
