Edmund Optics Celebrates European Annniversaries with Advancements in Service!

Barrington, NJ - Edmund Optics® (EO), the leading manufacturer and provider of precision optical components for business, industry and biotech applications, is proud to have served the European market from its UK and Germany offices for 11 and 10 years respectively. To celebrate this achievement, EO recently invested in relocating to a new 10,000 square foot distribution and customer support center to better service customers.  For example, the EOUK facility can now supply over 21,000 different products, for next day delivery.  With greater than 20% year on year growth in Europe, EO is committed to deliver more optics, more technology and more service to European customers. 
 
EO's commitment to its customers remains a top priority and is the foundation on which the business is built. "There are three factors that we have built the business on: service, service, service," commented John Cleather, Managing Director of EO's UK office. "We get products to our customers across Europe the next day, we respond to requests for quotations the same day, we answer customer phone calls immediately without the use of an automated telephone system and we speak to customers in their own language. We offer a personal service and for me the challenge is being prepared to provide this level of service."
 
EO's UK office started trading in January 1999 and its Germany office was established in May 2000. From their inception, the aim of both offices was to provide direct service and free technical support to the European market to ensure that customers could get faster delivery and pay in their own currency. Today, this unwavering commitment to customer service is still evident.
 
In March 2010, EO delivered 270,000 copies of its new Precision Biotech Optics Catalog in English, French, and for the first time, in German. "Along with providing customers with excellent service, we like to speak to people in their own language and have bilingual employees at both of our European offices," said Cleather. "We maintain a website in English, French, Spanish, and launching this June, German. It's all about the customer."
