DVT and Siemens Sign Brand-Label Agreement

Siemens Smatic VS72Atlanta, GA June 3, 2003 – Under an agreement announced November 26, 2002 at the annual SPS trade show in Nuremberg, Germany; Duluth, Georgia-based DVT Corporation will brand-label machine vision systems for the Automation & Drives Group of Siemens AG. As outlined in the Letter of Intent, DVT will supply brand-labeled versions of its Legend family of SmartImage Sensors and FrameWork software to Siemens; and DVT may offer a brand labeled version of the Siemens VS100 series of vision systems through its global network of Automation Solution Providers. The VS100 family of products is especially designed for image processing tasks for specific applications such as optical form inspection of small parts.

Commenting on the announcement, DVT Chairman and CEO Bob Steinke stated ‘‘DVT created the smart camera market over 11 years ago, and we continue to lead the industry with innovative solutions. This cooperative agreement with Siemens will serve both of our global customer bases and distribution networks by leveraging the strengths of each company. The Legend family of products will provide a wide range of solutions to Siemens customers – including CMOS and CCD-based systems; gray scale, color, high resolution, and high-speed units. This cooperation will fuel DVT’s R&D program to even faster product development and introduction.’‘
