Dr.-Ing. Norbert Stein Receives Automated Imaging Association Achievement Award

2005 AIA Achievement AwardAnn Arbor, Michigan - February 3, 2005 -- Dr.-Ing. Norbert Stein, President of VITRONIC, is the recipient of the 2005 Automated Imaging Achievement Award. The award, which was presented to Stein by the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) on February 3 at the annual AIA Business Conference in Orlando, Florida, honors industry leaders for outstanding contributions in promoting market acceptance of industrial and/or scientific imaging.

‘‘I am delighted that Dr. Norbert Stein is our first German recipient of the Achievement Award,’‘ said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Director of AIA.  ‘‘Since founding VITRONIC twenty years ago, he has built a tremendous track record of success and innovation.’‘

Dr. Stein is the founder of VITRONIC, a high-performance industrial machine vision company headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany with US headquarters located in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Stein received his PhD from Technical University Darmstadt and is Vice President of the VDMA Robot and Automation Association.

He joins an impressive list of past winners, some of the recent recipients include: Dr. Savvas Chamberlain of DALSA; Perry West of Automated Vision Systems, Inc.; Amir Novini of Applied Vision Company, Nello Zuech of Vision Systems International; Dr. Robert Shillman of Cognex, Ken Levy of KLA-Tencor and Pat Costa of RVSI, Inc.
