December 21 Set as Deadline for Automated Imaging Achievement Award Nominations

Ann Arbor, Michigan - Nominations for the 2002 Automated Imaging Achievement Award, the industry's highest honor, are due by December 21, 2001.
The annual award, sponsored by the Automated Imaging Association, honors one industry leader for outstanding contributions in promoting market acceptance of industrial and/or scientific imaging.
Among the past winners are industry leaders such as Pat Costa, President and Chairman, RVSI; Stanley Karandanis, President, Datacube; Ken Levy, Chairman, KLA-Tencor; Dr. Robert Shillman, Chairman, Cognex ; Gary Wagner, President, Imaging Technology;and Nello Zuech, President, Vision Systems International.
'We encourage everyone involved in the industry to nominate someone who they believe has helped advance the industry,' said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, AIA's Executive Director. 'The award can be presented to suppliers, users, researchers, consultants - anyone who has helped promote market acceptance of machine vision.'
The 2002 award will be presented on Thursday, March 7 at the 10th Annual AIA Business Conference in Las Vegas. Nominations should be submitted by December 21, 2001 to AIA Headquarters at P.O. Box 3724, Ann Arbor, MI 48106, by fax to 734/994-3338.
Founded in 1984, AIA is the only trade group in North America organized specifically to promote the use of machine vision. Its 229 member companies include leading suppliers, users, research organizations and consulting firms.
