The scout2 series is the next generation of Basler’s successful scout series. It benefits from Basler’s extensive experience designing and building the well-established scout GigE camera series, which will remain available in its current form.

These new cameras address applications that are extremely price sensitive and make a convincing argument with their excellent price/performance ratio.

Basler scout2 cameras are primarily equipped with monochrome and color Sony CCD sensors that have resolutions from VGA to 2 megapixels and image capture rates up to 120 frames per second. They feature a compact 29 mm x 44 mm x 85 mm housing with Power over Ethernet functionality.

The scout2 color models include a novel color fidelity enhancement concept with advanced color features, which makes them an ideal fit for color applications. These features allow easy, detailed color adjustments to achieve very realistic color reproduction.

The scout2 can be used in a broad set of applications such as semiconductor and component inspection, manufacturing quality control, intelligent traffic systems, microscopy and medical imaging, and many others.

Basler Vision Technologies is a leading global manufacturer of digital cameras for industrial applications, medical devices, traffic systems, and the video surveillance market. Product designs are driven by industry requirements and offer easy integration, compact size, and a very strong price/performance ratio. These characteristics are the decisive factors allowing Basler to hold a leading position in the GigE Vision arena today. Founded in 1988, Basler has more than 20 years of experience in vision technologies and offers one of the broadest product portfolios in the industry. The company employs about 300 people at its headquarters in Ahrensburg, Germany, as well as in international subsidiaries and offices in the U.S., Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan.
