Basler Vision Technologies Is ISO 9001:2000 Certified
Ahrensburg - April 18, 2002 - Throughout the last year, quality management was one of the main points of emphasis at Basler AG. Aiming to optimize our operations and processes even further, we have successfully implemented a comprehensive quality management system and we are now ISO 9001:2000 certified.
In the spirit of the ISO standard, we decided against implementing a pure quality assurance tool in favor of a much larger integrated management system with a focus on continuous improvement in all sequences of our operations. Clear-cut quality objects have been defined for the total system. Thanks to continuous reviews of these objectives, we can quickly detect any deviations and this enables us to take prompt countermeasures as required. By using a handbook available exclusively in an online version on our corporate Intranet, we guarantee that each member of the staff always has access to up-to-the-minute information. In concrete terms, our new quality management system will benefit our customers by bringing about a clear increase in the efficiency and reliability of our processes.

Our ISO certificate is valid until December 2004. Until then, LRQA (Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance) will supervise the efficiency of our QM system during annual support visits. Continuous internal audits will ensure that all processes are constantly checked and improved.
