Camera Link® Product Registry Now Listed on Machine Vision Online
Ann Arbor, MI – The Automated Imaging Association (AIA) has announced the release of the Camera Link® Standard Version 1.1. A growing list of products self-certified to meet version 1.1 of the Camera Link® standard can now be found on Machine Vision Online (www.machinevisiononline.org), the industry website sponsored by AIA.
AIA also announced that companies who self-certified their products have been sent a new logo that indicates the product is a Camera Link® registered product. The Camera Link® logo has been registered by AIA, and the association is now informing companies that haven’t self-certified their products that they may not use the registered Camera Link® logo or the new registered product logo.
‘‘It’s very important for users to know which products have been self-certified and which ones haven’t,’‘ said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Director of AIA. ‘‘It’s also important for the association to enforce its legal rights to the registered logo so that suppliers understand that self-certification is required in order to use the logo.’‘
Burnstein said that anyone wishing to purchase copies of the Camera Link® Standard Version 1.1 standard can do so for $25. The standard will be on sale in the AIA booth at Vision East and on Machine Vision Online .
Camera Link® is one of two standards initiatives from AIA. The other deals with Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for machine vision products. The pros and cons of these connectivity methods, along with Firewire, USB and HotLink, will be discussed at a special session on Thursday, May 6 at The Vision Show and Conference East at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
