AIA Achieves Record Membership in 2001

POSTED 02/07/2001

Machine vision web site traffic also grows

ANN ARBOR, Mich., February 8, 2001 - Membership in the Automated Imaging Association, the trade organization for the machine vision industry, is at a record high, now totaling some 230 machine vision suppliers, system integrators, end users, research organizations and consulting firms.

As membership continues to grow, AIA is working to forge new global opportunities for member companies, taking the lead in creating ties between North American, European, and Asian machine vision suppliers and users.  The most important tool in this effort, Machine Vision Online (www.machinevisiononline.org), was launched in April 2000.  Since its introduction, traffic on the site has grown to more than 1,000 visitors each week.

'AIA is committed to providing the best resources to our growing membership,' said AIA Executive Director Jeff Burnstein.  'The machine vision market is becoming increasingly global, and a major reason so many companies join our association is because we provide them with tools that help them expand their markets.'

AIA was founded in 1984 and serves as the world's leading resource for machine vision information.  In addition to Machine Vision Online, AIA is best known for The Vision Show, the industry's leading trade show and conference, its annual Machine Vision Market Study (the 2001 edition will be issued soon) and its annual Business Conference, which brings together top executives from machine vision companies throughout the world.
