Disney Yacht Club is Site of Anniversary Celebration

Ann Arbor, MI – The 15th Annual AIA Business Conference, the machine vision industry’s largest networking event, will be held January 31-February 2, 2007 at the Disney Yacht Club Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Some 175 machine vision industry leaders from around the world will gather to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the AIA Business Conference.  The Automated Imaging Association (AIA), the trade group that sponsors the event, promises a conference filled with outstanding talks and great networking opportunities.

‘‘We’ve planned a tremendous program that surpasses any of our previous Business Conferences,’‘ said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, AIA’s Executive Director. ‘‘Great speakers, timely topics, expanded networking opportunities, terrific social events, the beautiful Disney World resort – it’s going to be a fantastic experience for attendees and their families who join them.’‘

Among the presentation highlights:

  • A look at the global economic outlook by Dr. Sung Won Sohn, President and CEO, Hanmi Financial Corporation.  Dr. Sohn’s previous appearance at the Business Conference in 2003 was one of the highest rated talks in the history of the event, thanks to his detailed insights and humorous presentation style.
  • Analysis of the U.S. political outlook by Charles Cook, Editor and Publisher, The Cook Political Report.  Cook, one of America’s top political observers, will handicap the U.S. 2008 Presidential race and discuss major trends that companies doing business in North America should be aware of.
  • New machine vision industry market data from North America presented by Paul Kellett, AIA’s Director of Market Analysis.  Kellett will provide a first look at the results from AIA’s annual market study to be released in March 2007.
  • Exploration of opportunities for machine vision in the Security market, with featured talks expected from the Department of Homeland Security and Object Video, a company actively pursuing applications in border security and other security applications.
  • A panel discussion on the future of smart cameras featuring suppliers with different approaches to this fast-growing segment of the market.

Social and networking highlights include a golf outing on Wednesday, January 31 sponsored by Advanced Imaging; an expanded opening networking reception to include dinner on January 31; and an exciting evening at Pleasure Island, Orlando’s leading entertainment area, on February 1.
