The Budé Group b.v. is a twenty five year old, family owned Dutch company situated in Maastricht Netherlands that designs and manufactures production lines and equipment for the food industry. With in-house capabilities such as controls design, PLC and robot programming, it was natural for Budé to add machine vision to their portfolio of core technologies.

When asked why Budé selected PPT VISION for their new production line offering Mr. Marcel Budé, Director of the Budé Group, stated “We have worked with other machine vision system’s in the past but never has a system offered as much value and flexibility as PPT VISION’s new M40 system.” He went on to say, “We can now provide visual inspections for all types of food applications including, high-speed robot sorting or, alternatively, multi-camera inspections.  Both can be done while reducing production costs and ensuring the end customer gets only the highest quality product possible.”

VCC (Vision Competence Center) is the distributor for PPT VISION in Heerlen Netherlands who helped deploy the IMPACT M40 machine vision system in the Budé production line.  Mr. Marcel Heugen, Director for VCC said, “We were able to quickly solve all of Budé’s vision inspection requirements for the food manufacturing process. Why…? Because M40’s software is the same powerful software used on current IMPACT smart cameras and there was no added training required to program the unit. Additionally, we were able to keep system costs down because of the shared processing capability and multi-camera expandability, allowing us to inspect and reject the product at multiple locations in the production line and reducing added value to bad product.”

PPT VISION’s M40 embedded vision system product is the latest development to come from the Bloomington, Minnesota, USA based company. The new system utilizes the IMPACT software suite to program inspections and develop graphical user interfaces. Additionally, the new unit provides multi GigE camera support increasing its flexibility and overall value proposition to the end-user. The IMPACT M40 will be officially introduced to partners at PPT VISION’s M40 launch summit (October 12 & 13) and released late fall 2010.
