Our robotic automated visual inspection solutions detect surface defects (nicks, scratches, tooling marks…), the presence or absence of elements, the position of features, etc. While some of these solutions are marketable today, others are still in development by our team of experts.

Present-day Capabilities

AV&R currently offers inspection systems that recognize 2D characters and ensure that a feature is positioned correctly or in the required dimension. This type of inspection may include surface profile analysis and the software tools use precision calibration and morphological analysis.

In addition, we have designed systems that can validate part assembly, through their ability to archive images of a given assembly or specific components. These systems can also perform optical character recognition to validate that a specific component is present and compliant.

Always aiming to reach new goals, we have produced robotic inspection systems that use machine vision, algorithms fully adapted by our engineers, and robots that mimic human movements to perform a fully automated inspection of parts. These systems detect any defect a conscientious human eye can see, such as handling defects (dents, nicks, scratches, pits, etc.) or process defects (polishing marks, grinder marks, inadequate shot peening, coating chips, etc.). These systems are designed to aid an inspector.
