Who’s Who of Robotics Industry Starts 2009 with a New Member
POSTED 12/15/2008
ANN ARBOR, Michigan (December 15, 2008) – As a season of change unfolds for world leaders and global economies, Kawasaki Robotics takes its place as the latest company to become a Platinum member of the Robotic Industries Association Who’s Who list of members. There are six suppliers and eight systems integrators in this elite and distinguished subset of RIA’s 270-plus members. RIA is North America’s only trade group solely devoted to the robotics industry.
“We've had a great reaction to the Platinum ‘Who’s Who’ program that we introduced last year,” said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Vice President of Robotic Industries Association. “Platinum membership is a major investment and not done frivolously especially in today’s economy. On behalf of the RIA Board and Membership Committee, I am proud to welcome Kawasaki as our newest Platinum Supplier and to acknowledge the other Platinum Suppliers and Integrators.”
Other Platinum Suppliers include ABB, FANUC Robotics, KUKA Robotics, Motoman and Stäubli Robotics. These companies command key space at the International Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show, June 9-11, 2009 in Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois, and all are sponsors of the National Robot Safety Conference.
Companies that send attendees to the International Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show and to RIA safety events often collaborate with systems integrators to get an automation job done. To get it done right, customers look for best-in-class robot work cell design. RIA Platinum Integrators include ATS Automation Tooling Systems, Doerfer Companies, Genesis Systems Group, Interlink Controls, Perfecto Tool & Engineering, Rimrock Automation, SELCO Engineering and Precision Technologies, a division of Willamette Valley Company.
“RIA’s integrator membership continues to grow,” said Burnstein. “RIA’s Gold and Platinum Integrator members are rich with experienced engineers and industry veterans. Many are small and mid-size companies. They use limited resources in innovative ways. When you see the RIA membership seal on material from a systems integrator you know they are at the center of the robotics industry.”
Members of the RIA “Platinum Who’s Who” are honored throughout the year in print and online. Every member is important to the Association, and to help ensure the public knows who these companies are it publishes an annual Robotics Industry Directory in print form which is augmented by a guide to suppliers, integrators, consultants, researchers and universities on RIA’s website. Free copies of the Directory are available upon request to qualified individuals who visit Robotics Online.
